Sensual Art – Pin-Ups Illustrators
When one thinks about pin-up illustration, “Vargas Girl” floats immediately to the mind. Magazines like Esquire, La Vie Parisienne, Tatler, Dance, and Picture motion companies like Paramount, helped create, imagine and widespread the 20th Century American Girl.
In the past, Pin-Up girls were known as “Cheesecake” (as they were better than a cheesecake). Betty Page is one of the most famous cheesecake. Even Marilyn Monroe before venturing in Hollywood, was photographed as the cover-girl of the Cheesecake Magazine.
Some of the most renowned Pin-Up Illustrators are:
Alberto Vargas, George Petty, Earl Steffa Mora, Gillette Elvgren, Perl Frush, Rolf Armstrong, Elizabeth Austin, Joyce Ballantine, Paul John Ballard, Vaughan Bass, Andrew Bawidamann, Olivia de Berardinis, Enoch Bolles, Al Buell, Michael Calandra, Carlos Cartagena, Kevin Clark, Jack Cole
