Recently giant defense contractor Raytheon has bought Sarcos, a high-tech robotics firm that develops military suits fitted with android-like skeletons (exoskeletons) to boost power to whomever uses it.
Its field application in the army is obvious, once you shield the bio-mechanical components. Civilian use will be for handicapped and the elderly to get their stuff done with ease.
