Academy Awards 2008 - The Coen Brothers Triumph!

Hollywood has finally showed recognition for the Coen brothers by granting them with four Oscars*!

It took them over 23 years to reach the top, but it was worth waiting!
What more can be said about moviemakers that come from a nearly underground type of movie and bring this underground approach to the mainstream level?

The Coens, who are based in New York and remain away from the Hollywood establishment, also shared the directing and adapted screenplay awards. Upon accepting the award for best picture - "No Country for Old Men" - Ethan Coen thanked the Academy members for "letting us continue to play in our corner of the sandbox."

This blog would like to congratulate Joel and Nathan Coen as well as actor Javier Bardem who was awareded for his performance with the best supporting actor for his role as the cattlegun-wielding, pageboy-wearing serial killer. Javier thanked the film’s directors, Joel and Ethan Coen by saying they "put one of the most horrible haircuts in history over my head." They surely did, but it did pay off in the end!

Keep up the outstanding work, boys!

Brief and to the Point:

This blog has is a major fan of the Coen brothers and their filmography!
